SECOND Manuscript FINISHED!

Ladies and Gents,

I''m proud and ecstatic to announce my second novel in the works is completed! I wrote the last sentence on July 2, 2015, two days from the day I finished writing The Protected: The Unseen Realm three years ago! 

I'm now in the process of selecting a few friends to proof read it and give feedback, suggestions, and any obvious errors I've not caught. I want this book to hook readers, which is why I allow others to proof read because they have a different pair of eyes. So far, I've only been able to make the manuscript even more believable and realistic, thanks to, first God and then those who've taken the time to read my work before I search out a publisher/agent. 

The editing process could take up to a month or more because I reread my work more than once, making sure I didn't leave something important out and also tightening up any sentences that seem too long or "rambly". 

I so look forward to the publication of this book. 

Again, if you like good verses evil, psychological thrillers, creepy, graphic novels tied with romance, I'm confident you'll enjoy this one.

ALMOST DONE!!!!

Hello friends, 
I'm finally almost finished with my second manuscript! I lack two chapters from completion before I start searching for an agent. 

I'm really excited to share this new book with everyone should God will a second book of mine get published. 

My first novel, The Protected: The Unseen Realm, is in the Christian market. The second one I'm working on will not be due to graphic material, light profanity, and a couple of love scenes. The love scenes are not Fifty Shades of Gray style, but it's enough the Christian market wouldn't allow. 

Both of my books deal with angels and demons with good always prevailing. While The Protected was told from the angel's point of view, my second novel is from a demon's and the main character's point of view who's been tormented by her childhood demon. 

I'm SO excited to nearly be finished with this next book!!! Thanks for keeping up with my posts!

Moving Forward!!!

Alright, ladies and gents, I'm excited to announce I'm on Chapter 37 of my second novel! I'm moving along in a steady pace and am looking forward to finishing this manuscript!!

Please pray that once I'm done I'll land an agent! 

This manuscript that's in the making will be under the genre of horror. It's got graphic scenes and one love scene. The love scene isn't Fifty Shades of Gray style because I wanted to execute it as modestly as possible while still capturing a beautiful love-making scene. 

So, if you like good versus evil, overcoming demons (in both the literal and metaphorical sense), then this coming novel is for you! If you enjoy books with sub plots and twists, this one has them. Intense scenes, chilling dialogue mixed with comedic relief all exists in this novel to come!

FINALLY!!!

So I'm FINALLY done with school! I walked the stage to obtain my Bachelors of Arts in English Friday, December 12, 2014 at 3:00 pm! 

I have so much time now, it's awesome! Last night I picked back up with my second manuscript and am on Chapter 35 now! I'm about halfway done and am SO pumped about completing it! 

I guess it's time now to trust God with my own work before submitting my query. He created me to write so I know that in His timing, this novel will be published!

The Protected NOW UP FOR SALE!

ALREADY GOT EDITS BACK! WOW!

Wow, I'm amazed at how fast I got my edits back! Now I must reread through the whole manuscript one more time. Hopefully, God willing, this will be THE copy I sign the approval form on! I'll definitely keep you posted. I should have the proof sent back by tomorrow. YAY!!!! God is good!

Sixth Edits Sent!

Last night I stayed up until 12:40 am or so to finish correcting my sixth set of edits. I hit send and now I'm waiting on the last and final proof before I sign the approval form to have my manuscript sent to the printers! It's so close to being done! Once I sign the approval form, they'll also send me another ARC (Advanced Reader's Copy) aka a Galley which is a copy/proof of the novel in hard copy. What they send me will be exactly what the readers will read.

As for my other manuscript in the works, it's still approximately halfway finished and will probably stay that way until I graduate in December. I don't like to start working on it then have to stop so I'll just wait until I can sit and type for a long period of time. Plus every time I have to stop for a couple months or more due to school, I have to back through and reread my whole manuscript because I forget how to be inside the character's mind, if that makes sense.

For those who love horror/suspense, the one I'm currently working on is for you. As for The Protected: The Unseen Realm, which is set to release in September, if you like Christian suspense/spiritual warfare, you'll love this book!

Got Back My Fifth Set of Edits!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness, guys!!! I'm so beyond excited right now! I just got back my fifth set of edits to correct and they came back sooner than I expected! *SQUEAAAAL* 

I'm starting on them right after I post this blog and hope to have them returned to them by tomorrow afternoon! 

Annnnnd the printing stage is soooo almost here!!! Whoop whoop!!!

I'll be keeping ya updated!!!!

The Protected update!

I just submitted my fifth set of edits yesterday to have them corrected. I should be receiving them back no later than August 21st. If I get them back on that date, it will push my book release further down the calendar. I had been guessing late August for the release but now I'm thinking mid September. :( 

Bummer, but, I know it will be worth it! :) I look forward to posting the actual release date soon!

GOT MY FOURTH SET OF EDITS BACK!!! *EEEK!!!*

Okay, guys, got my fourth set of edits back and am currently in the process of reviewing them. Everything should be smooth sailing from here. I expect to have them returned by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. So far I've found few mistakes so I'm sure the next time they come back to me won't take as long since there will be way less to correct. 

If I had to guess when the novel will be sent to print, I'd say late August. I'll keep you updated!!!

I'm so excited!!!! The process is moving along nicely and I look forward to moving on to marketing once I've signed the release form!

UPDATE on The Protected and Reflection Unknown

This has been a pain-staking & gruelling process, this first rodeo with getting published, BUT I know the wait and efforts will totally pay off! I know this manuscript like the back of my own hand. I've completely read through it at least five times. I just submitted my fourth round of edits and am waiting for the corrections to come back to me. I should have them back the end of next week. I will then re-read through the entire manuscript again, making sure there are no errors (obvious ones, anyway), then send it back the fifth time. Hopefully I won't have to make anymore edits this next round and, if I don't, I will send it back saying I'm ready for it to go to the printers. At that time, they will send me a release form to sign and once I sign it, the manuscript moves to printing and I am transferred to marketing where I will schedule my book signings and such. I will also receive a new Galley/ARC (Advanced Reader's Copy). That's a demo of what the book will look like in its completion, what the readers will be seeing and reading!

I will have some books on sale at a cheaper price, but it's a limited supply. I don't even know how many I will have yet, but I will update you and let you know. My book is available for pre-order now at www.tatepublishing.com. However, I suggest you wait to pre-order until I give my update because the price of the book isn't finalized yet since it's still in the editing process.

For those who are seeing my blog for the first time, I've posted the front and back cover of The Protected: The Unseen Realm, due to release sometime in August.

As for my second novel in the works, I just went back through it and made drastic changes. (Good changes, of course). These changes have made the manuscript much stronger and will increase my chances of landing an agent! The title of this novel is Reflection Unknown. I'm not revealing anything more than the genre at this time since I've not found an agent/publisher. This book is a horror/suspense/romance. Romance is the subplot. It has to do with good vs. evil but it won't be published in the Christian market due to its graphically intense scenes with blood and "light" profanity. If you enjoy books that make your hair stand on end and, where, by the end of each chapter a pile of nail & cutricle shreds lays next to you, then you'll be a fan of this upcoming novel. 

I've been writing since I could pick up a pen and am STILL learning new ways to enhance and make my work much stronger, more realistic. I hope to have the manuscript completed by December then hunt down agents. My dreams consist of my novels being box office worthy, where, hopefully, sometime in the future they'll be turned into successful films. 

Every since I was little, I wanted to do three things: teach school, act, and write. (All different things, but do require a certain amount of creativity.) I've kept hold of those dreams and know that, if it be God's Will, it will happen in His timing!

UPDATE on THE PROTECTED

This process of publishing has been a long one, but I'm nearing completion. I've received my third set of edits and once I turn those in, they will review it, send it back one more time and if it's good (close enough to perfect ;)) then I will send it back along with a signed sheet of permission to send the manuscript to the printers for distribution!

If I had to guess, my book will be in stores late June or so. I will try my best to keep you updated. Now that school is out, I have much more time to blog!

I can't remember if I told you about the second book I'm writing...but I'm halfway through with it. If you like suspense/horror, then you'll love it. :) I can't really give too much info because it's still early in the making.

I can't wait to see where God takes The Protected. I pray it blesses many lives and that God speaks through my writing to reach others all over the world. Will you guys help me get the word out?

Close to Production!-The Protected

Hey guys! So, I'm finally out of school for the semester and I can finally breathe...but the

best thing of all came wrapped in a package, with the name of Tate Publishing, in the mail to me Monday evening. My ARC (Advanced Reader's Copy) arrived! When I opened it and saw it, I nearly cried tears of joy. This all feel so surreal. 

 

My book should print for distribution and purchasing sometime April 2014. I cannot wait to see where God take this book! 

 

God has already opened so many doors for me for this book. The first being, Tate Publishing accepted my book when they only take a very few percent of manuscripts. The most recent one was a HUGE blessing. A month or so ago, the production of my book was put on hold because I could not yet pay the remaining balance on the book due to my 15 hour semester consuming the majority of my hours at work.

If I had to guess, I might could have had the remainder by a few months from now. It saddened me, but I knew inside God had everything under control.

 

I prayed for weeks, "God, if it is Your Will, please provide a way for me financially to pay the remainder so the halt of production will be dismissed." Soon after I prayed, I had a dream I received a check in the mail for more than enough to cover my book. The next day, someone paid my remaining debt by check. God is SO good. Now, the book has moved forward and arriving to the last stages of production before distribution!

Reflection Unknown

So, I've been furiously working on one of my latest novels, Reflection Unknown. I just finished plotting the last half of the book, and am SO excited to write it!!!!

For those of you who like horror, this book is right up your ally, no doubt. It's extremely graphic and beyond creepy. It's so disturbing in some aspects that I actually had to take a break from writing and reconnect with God. (Not that I wasn't connected before. Just had to get closer with Him). But, the stuff in this book is really dark. It does have a good ending. Evil does not win. Evil will never win in any of my books, because God prevails over all evil.

Reflection Unknown is still in the making, so I don't have a publisher for it yet. I'm hoping to land an agent for this manuscript. I can tell my writing has gotten so much stronger since the first book I wrote, The Protected:The Unseen Realm, which is supposed to be released sometime in March or April 2014. (Not that my writing isn't strong in The Protected.) I've just been able to catch mistakes better than I used to before sending it to my editor, DeWanna Pace. She's awesome! She's been editing my manuscript, Reflection Unknown, and has shown me how to improve before sending it to agents or publishing companies. She's just fabulous.

My first novel, The Protected: The Unseen Realm, is geared for middle school through college age kids. It does have a couple of somewhat graphic scenes, and has no profanity. This is a book sold under the Christian Market. I believe I talked a little more about it on a seperate blog of mine recently. But, if you like angels and demons, good vs. evil, this is your book! And, if you like endings with a twist, this is also your book! Lol. If you are one that likes a good freaky, page turner, nail biting experience without the gore and profanity, you'll love this book. 

If you like gore, high tension, nail shredding, on the edge of your seat books, Reflection Unknown is most definitely for you. It does contain some "mild" profanity in it. Also, if you like twist endings, you'll love it! Reflection Unknown would not fly under the Christian Market due to its extreme graphic contents and occassional profane language. (Nothing like the F word or misuse of God's Name).

I have big hopes for these two novels. I love my God-given gift to write! I hope that when these two novels come out, you guys will read them and enjoy them, and also learn something through them.

I will update more on each of these novels later.

I'm supposed to be getting back my first edits on The Protected: The Unseen Realm any day now. Feels like forever when you're an excited writer! :]

Hello guys! Just an update about my book:

Tate Publishing is in the editing process of my novel. Within a week or so, I should hear back from them with my first edits for me to review.

I can't tell you how excited I am about the publication of The Protected:The Unseen Realm. It's been a dream of mine, ever since I could write, to publish a book. Now that it is actually happening, I can't believe it! It's so surreal. 

The Protected:The Unseen Realm is a spiritual warfare/suspense/thriller. It's guaranteed to give you a nail biting experience! If you are one that loves good vs. evil, this book is for you!

I wish I had more to share with y'all about it, like the cover design and whatnot, but that doesn't come until later in the process. As soon as I find out more regarding the novel's progress, I'll let you know! 

As of now, while I'm waiting patiently (er, or trying to), I'm writing another book. I'm on chapter 16 of it, and am progressing quite rapidly. I haven't yet decided if I want to make The Protected a series or not, but if I did, this book I'm working on could be the second book of the series. 

It also could stand on its own because readers would not have to read the first book to understand what's going on in the second. 

Maybe when The Protected:The Unseen Realm comes out, y'all can give me some input? Should be sometime in March 2014 when it is due for distribution, give or take. That's if we don't get off schedule or there aren't any delays.
